ESPRIT EDGE 2025.2 – Smarter Programming, New Capabilities

The upcoming release of ESPRIT EDGE 2025.2 brings powerful updates aimed at streamlining workflows and expanding programming capabilities. This version will introduce support for Swiss machines and launch ProPlanAI, a new machine learning-driven tool for automated process planning. It also includes a range of enhancements, bug fixes, and user experience improvements. Stay tuned for the official release date.

What’s New

Swiss Programming Now Available!
ESPRIT EDGE now supports Swiss-type machines, starting with Citizen L-series and Star SR-series.
The software delivers realistic simulation, safe synchronization, and efficient programming for Swiss operations. Mounting blocks make it easy to configure tooling, and rechucking cycles are handled automatically when needed for long parts.

ProPlanAI – Automated Process Planning

ProPlanAI uses machine learning to automate process planning for 2.5X and 3+2 milling.
It learns from your past ESPRIT EDGE projects and applies that knowledge to new parts. The result is faster programming, fewer manual steps, and improved consistency.
Requires active maintenance and a Nexus subscription.

Hexagon Copilot Now Live

You can now chat directly with Hexagon Copilot inside ESPRIT EDGE. It provides answers to your questions as you work, helping you get more out of the software without breaking your flow.
Available to users with active maintenance through Nexus.

Other Notable Enhancements

  • Automatic work plane rotation simplifies programming on Swiss machines with a B-axis.

  • Default tool change end positions reduce the need for manual edits during tool swaps.

  • The Part Copies tool is now easier to find and use, offering linear, grid, circular, and custom patterns.

  • New “Apply Once” parameter lets you optimize certain operations across multiple copies without duplicating toolpaths.

  • Hole PMI data from DESIGNER is now recognized, including tapped hole info, which can be used with the KnowledgeBase for automated tool and cycle selection.

  • 5-axis corner remachining is now fully available (no longer in preview) with improved performance and toolpath quality.

  • Updates to Profit Turning patterns include changes to roll-in radius and trochoidal settings, now based on step over and tool nose radius for better control.
