The Right Post Processor for Every Machine on Your Floor

SURFCAM includes two built-in post processors — M-Post and S-Post — covering a wide range of CNC machine types right out of the box, with over 200 M-Post and 50 S-Post configurations included for major machine manufacturers. For shops with more complex or specialized requirements, third-party options OmegaPost and 3DPost extend that capability further — adding advanced template languages, hybrid machine support, mill-turn capabilities, and full machine simulation. Whether you're posting simple 2-axis code or managing multi-axis mill-turn operations, there's a SURFCAM post processor solution built for your environment.

Features at a Glance

  • SURFCAM Post Processors:

    • M-Post (included)
    • S-Post (included)

M-Post

M-Post is SURFCAM's standard included post processor, with over 200 pre-built configurations for major CNC machine manufacturers including Fadal, Haas, Mazak, and Fanuc. Its template-based structure looks and reads like an NC program, making it easy to edit and customize without specialized programming knowledge. Users can also make on-the-fly changes to M-Post NC code directly in any text editor — no re-posting required.

  • Supports EDM, Lathe, 2-axis, and 3-axis machine controls
  • Over 200 pre-built post processors included
  • Template editing requires no programming language knowledge
  • NC output can be edited directly without re-posting

S-Post

S-Post is SURFCAM's second included post processor, offering over 50 pre-built configurations and a powerful Option File Generator for creating custom posts without writing code. Its Factory Interface Language (FIL) utility handles external file I/O and toolpath manipulation for virtually any machine type.

  • Supports 2- to 4-axis lathes and turning centers with one or two turrets
  • Accommodates mills and machining centers with up to 15 axes, including indexing tables, rotary and tilt heads
  • Supports non-turning machines including lasers, wire EDMs, punches, grinders, drills, and routers
  • Option File Generator creates custom posts by supplying machine kinematics and control codes — no programming required
