Manual Installation of SQL 2014

Browse the ESPRIT ISO file in this directory: Deploy\BootSetupPrerequisites\SqlExpress2014
In this folder right click on SQLEXPR2014_x86_ENU.exe and choose “Run as administrator”

3. Choose “New SQL server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation”

Choose next through everything and when you get to the Instance Configuration, rename the named instance to KBMSS14 and click the tab on your keyboard to automatically change the instance ID to the same name.
When you get to the Database Engine Configuration, change the Authentication Mode to Mixed Mode
Enter the password KBMsa64125#

*** IF YOU GET AN ERROR ‘the specified SA password does not meet strong password requirement’ make the password KBMsa64125#KBMsa64125# ***

Choose next through everything and choose install. Once SQL has successfully installed you can install ESPRIT, If you get an invalid connection to KBM after ESPRIT installs please see below.

If you had to enter the KBM password twice, please do the following:

Go to the Windows start menu> DP Technology> right-click knowledgebase connection and run as administrator.
Enter the password KBMsa64125#KBMsa64125# and hit test, IT WILL FAIL, once it fails hit OK and then OK again.
Next, Go to the Windows start menu> DP Technology> right-click database setup and run as administrator.
Once it completes successfully you can open ESPRIT.
If the database setup fails please select the save icon in the bottom right save this as a text document and send the log file for us to review
